Dubai’s Cinema Akil to reopen on June 12 wow
If you’re starving for a dose of culture and cinema, Alserkal Avenue’s very own boutique cinema is ready to welcome you again. Cinema Akil, that was temporarily closed on March 14 to help in stopping the spread of COVID-19 is reopening its doors to visitors this weekend keeping all health guidelines in mind.
The venue has been redesigned to keep social distancing as priority while reducing its capacity to 30%. Both visitors and staff are to wear masks during all times, and everyone will have their temperatures checked upon arrival. Bookings for movie screenings have gone fully digital to reduce contact with strict disinfecting programs to take place every day.
The frequency of movies have been reduced to ensure the venue have enough time for cleaning. Cinema Akil will be screening only one film every night from Tuesday to Saturday. Project Chaiwala, the inhouse restaurant, will remain open on the following days.
The first film to kickstart the weekend will be Michael Winterbottom’s A Trip to Greece.
